Slamming, or injecting, is something we do not recommend. If you are going to use drugs, there are fewer risks associated with consuming drugs in other ways. Some users and members of Chemfriendly do practice slamming, and for that reason we have a few harm-reduction tips.
1) Try to make sure that the drug you have obtained is in fact what you think it is.
You can use test kits to check this or test a small dose first by snorting or swallowing it.
2) Prepare the solution properly.
The solution you make should be completely clear, without lumps or any suspicious substances. Always use a filter!
3) Split the dose into two cannulas/syringes.
When slamming or injecting, the substance reaches the heart and brain within seconds, and an overdose can happen immediately.
That’s why you should split the dose into two syringes and allow some time between each injection. This helps prevent overdose.
4) Never inject alone.
If someone loses consciousness or ‘passes out’, the others must immediately call 113.
5) Never share injection equipment.
Sharing pumps and cannulas/syringes puts you at risk of infecting each other with HIV or hepatitis C. A smart way to keep each person’s equipment separate is to use pumps and cannulas of different colors.
6) Never inject into your groin, neck or penis.
If you are going to inject, you should use veins in your arm.
7) In case of overdose, call 113!
When you call 113, it is the ambulance – not the police – that will come. The ambulance has a duty of confidentiality and will only save lives.
